Krump Orlong is unknown and forgotten
Krump walked into the store a ragged mess of disinterest, and promptly plopped 310 crowns down in front of the hobbit,

"An elven longsword, and a hand crossbow please if you will dear hobbit"

As the hobbit gathered the items Krump continued to blather about really nothing until the items were in front of him, then he gathered them up and proceeded out the front door, farting as he went.

To Purchase a Kris...

Elric entered the shop. What he was looking for would likely need to be customized, so waiting a brightening or two would likely be in order. No matter, it was necessary and he was fairly patient when necessary. He made his way to the counter and looked over the list.

"Can I get you something?" asked a halfling behind the counter.

Elric looked to the clerk, "Yeah, a kris. But I'd like to customize it a bit if possible."

The hobbit took a sheet of parchment and began the ordering process. "Your name please? And what you'll be wantin' to customize. We'll be asking for payment upfront depending on what it is."

Elric nodded. "Elric. And I'd like the blade black, a flat black." He didn't want any light to reflect off the blade when drawn. "And a sweat resistant handle."

The halfling nodded as he took note. "Alrighty then, since you're gettin' the blade colored we'll be needing payment up front. Two-hundred crowns. And it'll be ready tomorrow, come earlier than later, eh?"

Elric agreed and pulled out his purse from his waist. "Two-hundred," he said as he pulled bank notes from the purse. He handed them to the halfling and watched as the small man gave his order to another clerk. Then he thanked the clerk and left.

---The next brightening, earlier than later---

Elric walked to the shop, having spent the darkening in an Inn. He was ready for the brightening and excited to get a hold of his custom kris. He walked up to the counter and found the same halfling that had helped him the brightening before.

"Ah, yes, your kris... I think the smithy took a liking to this one," he said, retrieving the blade wrapped in fabric under the counter. "Even gave it a name he did, 'Shadow's Edge.' Kinda catchy eh?" He unwrapped the weapon, tossing the fabric to the side and holding up the kris for Elric to see.

"Amazing," Elric thought to himself, seeing before him a completely black kris, the wavy blade black on every inch, non-reflective and sharp. The handle had a cushion-like texture which absorbed sweat. "Yes, Shadow's Edge, yes indeed," Elric thought.

"You'll want a sheath for this one lad, it's a special one." He pulled out a black leather sheath and placed it on the counter. It would fit the kris nicely. "30 crowns." Elric nodded in excitement and paid him the fee in bank notes. Then he took his kris, sheathed it and nodded to the halfling.

"Glad you like it," he said, "You know, it's perfectly balanced, so take good care of it, that's a quality custom weapon."

Elric placed the sheath and blade at his hip, attaching it to his belt under his tunic. "I can tell... bid your smithy my thanks and compliments on his craftsmanship."

Custom Kris "Shadow's Edge" purchased.

Kalenel D'Rinishad is unknown and forgotten
The two blades

Mid-Cryraxtum

Kalenel entered the shop shortly after sunset, removing his cloak hood and squinting his crimson eyes as he adjusted to what candlelight there might be. Having been trained in swordfighting by his mentor Faust, Kalenel thought it now best to purchase his own set of blades and return the ones he was borrowing from the Fitness and Bones. Even better, Faust arranged to pay for anything Kalenel needed.

"I'm in need of two elven longswords, around 32' inches long with sweat absorbent hilts," Kalenel said after he greeted the clerk. The clerk in turn quickly scribbled upon a sheet of paper, pausing and signaling Kalenel to continue. "The blades will need to be blackened and edged on both sides. Any designs I will leave up to you, nothing too fancy though."

Almost leaving on that note, Kalenel turned on his heel and continued his order. "Also I need a high quality hunting knife made of damascus steel, also with a sweat absorbant hilt."

With that, he was told to come back in about a cycle or so to pick up his weapons. Payment was required then for the young Kalenel, and he quickly came up with the 1550 crowns. Remembering he would need sheaths, he brought out 130 more to cover the cost for those.

He was back in exactly one cycle, and his weapons were ready for him. Strapping them unto his belt, he walked out a happier and better equipped Kalenel.

Kaleal is unknown and forgotten
Walking through the entryway of the weapons shop, Kaleal strode up to the counter. Surveying the selection of weapons on offer, he quickly noticed a suitable arm. "Serale. I wish to purchase a kris." The hobbit standing at the counter said "Certainly. Do you wish to purchase a sheath also?" Kaleal considered this, and eventually said "Yes. I will purchase a leather sheath. Also, can you attach a decorative hilt?" The hobbit nodded, and then left the room. Twenty minutes later, he returned, placing the kris on the countertop. "That will be 160 crowns please." Kaleal paid the hobbit, sheathed the kris, and then left.

Joraen Englar is unknown and forgotten
Joraen walked into the weapons shop with the same sort of restless pace he had burst into the armour shop with earlier. He was in a hurry to buy protection. He was undecided at first at what it was he wanted. A sword perhaps? But that would be very conspicious. As he looked along the racks of weapons, Joraen noticed some vicious looking Elven longknives, and at 17 inches of blade length, they were not so far off a shortsword in length. He decided to purchase at least one of these. The keen edged weapon would be able to kill without getting extremerly close and would still hide under the folds of his cloak well enough. He toyed with the idea of getting a sword as well. It would be a single edged one, he had always preferred these. But he decided not to. He was not a trained warrior, and to carry a sword openly, whilst not uncommon amongst the more adventurous, could attract unwanted attention. In truth, it was probably those who wore their weapons openly who were more to be trusted. The danger was on display. Better to be weary of the seemingly unarmed man who was trying to be inconspicious. This was to be Joraens way for now. A knife would serve him better he felt. But one could not rely on just one weapon. So he took two Elven longknives, both with black handles. He took these up to the counter, where he said to the Hobbit, whom he had previously ignored, "I would like these, both with black leather sheaths." He fished out 300 for the knives and another 60 for the leather sheaths. He had spoken in a perfectly neutral tone, he believed, though in truth, he had felt a little contempt for the Hobbit, being so short and surely so useless in a fight. Though not all strengths were martial. Something his family barely understood, well, to be fair they also understood theivery deciet and poison.

He handed over the money, and in turn, the Hobbit gave him his weaponry. Joraen was now light on coin, and with the skies darkening, what was there to do? He headed to his meagre hovel where he would find the best manner in which to strap on his weaponry and perhaps give them a twirl. Anybody could swing a knife, even someone without training.

Cryxatum, era xv, pf

"You most certainly can be of help, Hobbit..."

The Hobbit turns to find a hunched Esh'lahier draped over his counter. Quite possibly the ugliest damn one his little beady eyes have ever laid on.

"I wouldn't mind having one of those Vampire Swords at 190 Crowns."

The thin looming creature in red and black jingles a bag of coin.

"Do we have a deal?"

The Hobbit nods, the Esh'Lahier smiles.

The bag of coin becomes lighter.

----

Nosferatu Vampire Sword - 190 Crowns.

Gruumsh Kragorach is unknown and forgotten
(OOC: Paid 5x cost for giant-sized.)

Mid-Brightening, 11th Cryxatum, Spring Era XV PF

Since he arrived in Vortex, Gruumsh felt naked. He was no fool, but words cannot sway the necromancer with intent to harvest his organs, or on the vysstichi in need of a whipping boy (Gruumsch shuddered in indignation of the thought of being subordinate to some sissy elf). Besides, cracking skulls took so much more energy with his bare hands than it did with a fourty-pound battleaxe, and sometimes it was necessary.

However, physics presented the first problem – even a runt like him would have some trouble fitting through a six-foot door. Since Gruumsh didn’t really feel like crawling (he had already degraded himself enough for one lifetime), he did the next best thing.

Knock.

No response. Maybe he was being too careful. Maybe the shopkeep wasn’t paying attention. Best to try a tad harder.

Knock.

The door’s hinges buckled a bit as Gruumsh rapped the door a little too hard for its liking. The giant took a quick step back sheepishly, and pretended like nobody would think that his accidentally busting some (probably tasty!) halfling’s door in.

A few seconds passed before the door flew open and Dubbie peeked out like a dumb teenager in another world’s bad horror movie. It is needless to say that, unlike said dumb teenager, Dubbie kept his head.

“WHAT!?”

Gruumsh, stamped his feet nervously.

“Er… serale?” Gruumsh’s eyes moved up the Halfling for a moment, his mind temporarily skimming towards how the little creature might taste on a skillet before returning to the task at hand. “I’d like to get myself a weapon. A greataxe, specifically… something big and intimidating and all that.”

“Er… serale to you too…” Dubbie shifted for a moment. Giants were good customers, if a tad uncouth. Big folk needed big weapons, and big weapons tended to cost lots of gold… “Yeah, I think I can do that. It won’t be cheap, but I can do it. Want anything special on it?”

“Yeah, a spike. Put a big spike on the end of it…” All Gruumsh knew about weaponry was to hit the bad guys with the sharp parts, and he guessed that was all he needed to do to lay down some choppy action.

“Yeah, that’ll be five hundred crowns. Upfront. And it’ll take me two… no, three, brightenings to finish the job.”

Gruumsh shrugged and grumbled a bit, but if he had to shell out some crowns to crack some heads, he figured it a done deal. He just wished it wouldn’t lay into his pocket so hard. “Yeah, here ya go.” Gruumsh counted out the coins and handed them to the grinning halfling.

----------------------------------
Three Brightenings Later

Gruumsh returned eagerly to receive his new weapon. He wanted to look as powerful and intimidating as a giant should… at least enough so as to scare off any runts who might mess with him. This time he knocked a tad more lightly on the door and waited patiently for a response.

“Yeah, I got your stuff…” The halfling grunted, and the sound of sharpened steel dragging against packed dirt echoed through the giant’s head. The door swung open to reveal a perspiring halfling and Gruumsh’s monstrous battleaxe. “Here ya go, and be careful with that thing, or ya might hurt someone.”

The giant grunted in response and gripped the heft of the battle-axe, slinging it across his back. “Thanks.” Nodding in approval at the sight of his gleaming blade, the giant turned and wandered back into the bustling city…
