Hathor is unknown and forgotten
Hathor stood up after a bit and walked behind the bar into the kitchen. So many pots and pans and cooks cooking up meals. No one seemed to question why an Katta was here as he went inside a door that was not really marked.

He head the sound of feet slowly pacing down the stairs. His eyes quickly seeing past the dark starwell and came upon what seemed like a huge like underground building and maze.

Such an old place he thought yet he would hate to be lost in here. A part of him felt lost as he lacked the power to defend himself but he did not let that get to him.

The words were cold holding so much icy rage he thought as he was greeted by Spirotyn. An light elf something about that was cute in his mouth as he flicked his tongue over his teeth as he did not really asnwer making him wait.

"You know most call other people weak in order to make them feel better and higher on the food chain." He said as he slowly walked towards him, there was no fear in his eyes, no worrness in his body as he stared at him. He would taste good he thought and it showed in his eyes that Spirotyn was just that. Food for other people.

"Master Aribeal hates to be kept waiting long now move." He said as he walked past the elf inside the doors. Soon he would make that elf know his place on the food chain and before that he knew himself would know his place.

The steep, stone stairs spiralled down, candles shedding light sparsely on the steps, illuminating them just enough light to walk down without having to worry too much about missing a step. Once he got down it would open in up in a huge open space in the underground cave. A hall with a ceiling as high as a four storey building, grey stone walls with inscribed paintings, runes and stories were present. Stories which were written in a language only a few could understand, as for paintings, they showed battle scenes, worshiping and a few other violent captures.

Not far from him, five humans and a Light Elf were standing. The Elf was clad in dark crimson robes like all who walked in this place. Only they were better kept, and with markings which showed his superiority. He turned to Kaleal as he arrived. “You’re finally here.” The voice was all but friendly and it seemed as if the light born was expecting him and he was late.

The humans weren’t wearing robes as other cultists he could see pass in the background and two of them had a pack standing next to them. They only looked briefly at the Dracon when he entered, quickly turning back to the Elf again as he started talking again. “So the six of you want to learn from us. You’ll have to earn your training though, so we have a task for you. We’re currently looking to expand our library and you’re going to help us. We want you to go to the Vortex library and copy each and every book related to Necromancy – however remotely – and bring the copy back.”

From his robes a rolled up parchment was procured. “Now, this is a writ by the Thane herself that claims you are researcher of the occult and that they should allow you full access to each and every book they have. You’ll behave orderly and friendly and give them no reason to suspect you’re anything other then simple researchers. You will be watched. Any questions”

If there were no more questions he would hold the parchment, up to take for the first willing to step forward and do so. “You know what to do. Dismissed.”

Tallis Kait is unknown and forgotten
Pontius cycle III era XV [following the events in the White Night

What Tallis had expected to find he was not sure but it certainly was not the delightfully decorated subterranean world beneath the Tavern. Alone now as the barman seemed disinclined to offer him the grand tour Tallis made his way deeper into the caverns. The dark did not bother him in the slightest he was pure blood Vysstichi he came truly alive in the dark his special senses kicked in without any conscious thought and the steep steps were clear as damnable daylight under his quick sure feet. However for all his natural advantages the steps were old and slick and he occasionally steadied his descent with a hand against the wall. Perhaps the first frisson of discomfort began as the reached the huge gates and the many choices for egress and entrance to the mysteries this vaulted dark cathedral contained. Guards hard and strange barred some doors whilst other seemed to be for the other denizens of this strange place, there was a bustle of hushed whispers as robed figures scurried about their tasks. His sharp red eyed were drawn to the hangings and paintings of lurid scenes of blood and war adorned the walls under scored with a strange script that as he followed its path began to play on his senses with feelings of uneasiness.

Truly this was a place of strange wonders dedicated to an entity that he could not imagine peopled with acolytes who held a mysterious purpose. Tallis straightened his shoulders and sneered at the comings and goings of the sub species as they wandered these great halls.

He might have taken more time to examine his surroundings but all to soon the search for some one to guide him further was over and he was faced by a peculiar looking denizen who had the temerity to spit insults at his face.

Tallis sized this one up taking in the robes of fine red and the facial adornment he took his time allowing his eyes to start at the top of the mans head and slowly following him down to his toes before looking him straight in the eye making it obvious that this oddity was being judged.

Serale Mr Weakling, I am Tallis Kait, this is truly a delightful place you have here I have enjoyed my visit now can we get down to business. I wish to speak with who ever is in charge here and unless that is you, then we are wasting my time!

The tone dripped aristocratic. Tallis was a Vysstichi who believed totally in his own superiority and that of his race.

If Tallis had been of the female persuasion, the elf in front of him might have doubted his importance and given him a more careful welcome. There were quite a few Vysstichi woman who held a great deal of power after all and even though they’d most likely never show up in this place he wasn’t one to take too much risks in these cases. Right now it looked like he was facing just another student however, and one with a bigger mouth then healthy for him. Spirotyn’s expression went from simply annoyed to dangerously serious at his reply.

“You better show some respect if you hold dear to your life. That one of your brethren allowed you entrance means nothing. Right now I am the one in charge. In charge of deciding how you leave this place, if at all even.”

Given the poor treatment Tallis was given he might think the Lightborn to be a racist, but the contrary was true actually. Spirotyn treated everyone equally bad, regardless of his or her race. Perhaps odd given his task was greeting those that entered, but no doubt there was a good reason to be found for it somewhere.

Tallis simply nodded his head to acknowledge the admonishment from the strangely adorned elf.

I shall remember your advice and your threat Sir but respect has to be earned even from one who appears to hold all of the high cards in his hand. Therefore I offer you that respect and expect the same courtesy from you. This time he bowed in courtly fashion to his master.

So master where am I? This edifice is remarkable not only for its architecture and choice of décor but rather more for the fact that it is unknown to the vast majority of the uninitiated truly an excellent security system must be in place for no whisper of this place to exist on the outside world.

The Vysstichi wannabe necromancer was greatly disturbed by this awful place, his demeanour of laid back nonchalance was shaky but for the moment he was going to try and hide behind his crafted mask.

“I don’t need to offer you anything. Just remember that rank and skill go hand in hand here. You’re at the bottom rank and I’m far above you. You do as you are told and I can tell you what to do.” Spirotyn grinned as he was being called a Master. He wasn’t, being only a Journeyman, but at least it showed that the Vyssie was willing to give the proper respect to those that deserved it. “Security isn’t that hard when you have both Necromancy and Mysticism at your disposal. The second can make the masses turn a blind eye fairly easy and the first has some excellent ways of dealing with those that persist.” He flashed another smile and crossed his arms, looking down upon the latest pupil. “Which brings us to the matter at hand. I assume you wish to be educated, so the only question remaining would be what sphere.”

Despite his masters outlandish appearance and the peculiar location he was in the wannabe necromancer began to relax, not a lot he was still very wary of everything in this underground citadel to the path of the dark arts but at least he had appeared to have got over the first hurdle. He could live with the notion that for once he was not top dog and that his life was held in the palm of this strange elf’s hand.

Very well master I understand the terms under which I am introduced to this academy ….. the last word had a hint of a question about it. Tallis was short on information, he had no real idea what this place was or who these scuttling robed people were all he was sure of was that this was the place where he could begin.

I wish to study the dark art of necromancy …… he held up his hand so that he could continue and give an uninterrupted explanation as to the why. As a male Vysttichi I am debarred from this path by tradition and history and the rule of the matrons who keep these skills to themselves, I find this situation intolerable! Thus I come looking for a different route to my chosen field of study.

Why necromancy that is far easier to explain but master you may find my reasoning unpleasant. I wish to wreak havoc and fear upon the upper world not at the behest of some god or other but for my own selfish means. I require power wealth and respect and if that aim has to be achieved through the means of terror then so be it. Necromancy is the tool I wish to employ to achieve my aim. Understand me master I will succeed in my ambitions all I wish to know is whether this place is the correct school to educate me on the first steps?

Spirotyn certainly could get used to being called Master. He wouldn’t mind the extra power that came with the title either. Aribeal and Toherro hadn’t deemed him worthy yet however and he couldn’t really disagree with them at this point either “You could see it as an academy of some sort. The fees are handled a bit differently though. We don’t normally ask for monetary donations, but instead we reserve the right to call upon you for tasks as we see fit.”

When he explained why he wanted to learn Necromancy his words were waved away. “I’ll notify the Master that will be overlooking your training and he’ll call you when he sees fit.” With that, the Elf disappeared for a moment. When he returned, he only notified that Tallis would have to wait a little longer and then he was left to his own for at least a candlemark or two. Eventually a Human approached him, dressed in the same dark crimson robes as the ligthborn. They lacked the markings Spirotyn had though, showing this was only one of the lowlier members. With a simple waved he indicated Tallis to follow him.

He was lead through one of the large doors in the main hall. Beyond the door was a rather dark and depressing room, lit only by a few candles here and there. To the left of the room was a somewhat better lit part of the room containing a bookcase as well as a table partnered with a chair. In front of him there were three steps descending into a pool that made half a circle against the wall and that probably took up over half of the room. Nobody could be seen and before he could ask anything to his guide the door was closed behind him and he was alone.

OOCYou can start a new thread for your training.
