Erhıne is an upstanding Citizen
Noontide of the Fifth Brightening of Optia, Era XII PF in the Reign of Arabella the Just

The aedile's office was clean and neat, even sporting a bush of red flowers - an occurrence which rather surprised the grey elf as she walked in through the doorway. In her experience, houseplants had so far been a rarity.

Glancing at the aedile, however, matters realligned themselves: the female elf who sat behind the desk was one of the lightborn, whose race Erhıne did not consider the flower of all culture and knowledge - though they tended to think so themselves.

Still, the Nimâlni was well over evincing any signs of her distrust: the cool smoothness of feature which showed little even under the most stressing of circumstances changed not a muscle as Erhıne slowly approached the desk and the elven woman behind it.

"Serale," she replied to the studied greeting of the elf, "I heard that there is free housing in Vortex?" Living at an inn was alright for a few brightenings; but one couldn't actually live in such a place very well at all - too much noise, drinking, and strange people.

Erhıne is an upstanding Citizen
The aedile, the female elf Minhiriath, glanced up and nodded as the grey elf walked into the door. Of ancient Trelorean heritage, perhaps the woman behind the desk knew to peg Erhıne as one of the Nimâlni - the reclusive elven race who had, since time immemorial, issolated themselves from the rest of Trelore. Needless to say, relations between the grey and the other elves were not particularly good, even if the ancient memory of long broken promises had not festered for centuries within the minds of traditional Nimâlni.

All that was different on the Medonian continent, though: here Nimâlni perforce had to mingle with the rest of the Allerian population, and the rest of the population had to deal with the curious, almost dwarven-like elves. Minhiriath quirked an eyebrow sky-highwards and asked: "Serale - yes, that is correct. We are giving away one-room houses.. many of them scattered across the city. Have you any particular preferences?" The aedile still sat quietly, waiting for Erhıne to elaborate on her request before beginning to search for an appropriate location.

The grey elf frowned, pondering the question before her: she had not yet seen in detail much of the city, except for the blocks around the Elegant Blades shop and the inn, of course. As soon as she and Xylle were settled into a home she planned on taking the boy to school - it was hard on him, to be stuck in their room all brightening, but Erhıne didn't dare take him out or with her to the shop for fear of accidents. Xylle was but a child, after all: and furthermore, it was high time for him to start his education.

Where had Dubby said it was?... Near the City Library.. Erhıne had never been there as yet.

"I am new here - perhaps you might know a place better; I would prefer some house near the schola - a quiet area, if such is to be had." The elf finally requested.

Pursing her lips, Minhiriath checked through her files and finally came up with an entry that seemed to her to fit the Nimâlni's needs best. She wondered, rather, at the schola bit - the elf before her looked young, much too young to be having children surely... but sometimes planning had nothing to do with such things.

"There is a house available three blocks south of the Library, on the edge of the Southern Quarter." The light born elf glanced at Erhıne, and seeing her studiously immobile expression decided to elaborate: "The poor quarter if you will, where most of the dracons live."

Unexpectedly (at least for Minhiriath), the grey elf appeared to like the idea: her eyes widened, and the corners of her lips drew up in a pleased smile. "That will be very good indeed," Erhıne said before Minhiriath could continue.

Shrugging, and thinking that perhaps the odd things she had heard about the grey elves might be true, the aedile took out the file on the house and wrote out a statement of ownership, which Erhıne signed, and Minhiriath signed and duplicated for her records.

"There you are," the aedile passed Erhıne's copy across the desk towards the Nimâlni. "It is all yours - good luck with it." Nodding her thanks, Erhıne exited the office and headed back towards the inn and her little scaled charge.

Elric van Maer is an upstanding Citizen
Elric made his way into the aedile's office from the lab. Guess had instructed him to consider buying a small house instead of renting a room at the tavern and Elric had thought about the logic behind that. He considered it sound and decided it was a good idea indeed to do such a thing. That way he could begin the formation of a lab when the time and his training was right for it. Of course, Guess would tell him when that was and likely help him construct it, so he was looking forward to that in the likely not-so-near future, but alas, he was sure it would happen in Vortex.

"Yes, yes.." he said in response the the asst. aedile's kind offer of help. "I need to purchase a house, I don't really know what to do." He may have been out on his own but he still didn't know about many things of the world. buying a house being one of them amoungst other financial-type things.

Sel'eldron Capac is an upstanding Citizen
OOC: Self-modded, if there is any funny business I’ll edit it.

Fifth Brightening, Second Cycle, Kalendryas

As of late, Sel’eldron’s purse had been running too light for comfort, and that was not a good thing. So here he was, he had the blood-splattered deed to a house rolled up inside the folds of his black robe. The original owner had been a fool who had met their end on the road to Vortex; the man had been a bit of a racist and had paid for it, with his blood. The deed should put enough weight in Sel’s pocket to due him for a while, and the house had never been in the most ideal location. Someday he was going to have to get a bit of property in Har’oloth.

Entering the Aedile’s building he glanced at the two guards for a moment before walking straight up to the light elf that was working. ”I’ve got a deed to sell,” he told her simply when asked what he wanted.

”Okay, lets see it,” the light elf told him.

Reaching into his robe he pulled out the rolled up parchment and handed it over to the light elf, who took it cautiously trying to avoid the bloodstains on it. Unrolling it she looked at the deed for a moment before rolling it back up. ”I can give you 1000 crowns for this,” she told him.

”Fine,” he said and watched as she hid the parchment away in a drawer. She then reached into another drawer and pulled out a stack of bank notes. Quickly she counted out ten, one hundred crown notes and handed them over to the vysstichi’s waiting palm. Folding them neatly, Sel deposited them into his purse, which promptly vanished within the folds of his robe. Without a word of goodbye, the dark elf left the building.

Rak Ssss'vin is an upstanding Citizen
Second Cycle of Pontius
Eighteenth Candlemark in the Darkening of Ioannolia
The Winter of Era I of the Celestine Mandate
Thirteenth Era Post Fractum, the Second Era of the Reign of Arabella
Paradigm: The Eclipse of the Sun

It had been a few seasons since the dark saurid had come into the aediles office, and he needed something from them again, so he decided to return to them, with the deed to his house in Vortex. Money was what he needed to get by in this softskin world, and he had ran out of it. This house of his was getting no use, seeing as how he had moved into the cult of Toherro, so that's what he was going to get rid of. Making his way back into the Aedile's office, and up to the desk, he looked for whomever was working there, and then said, "I am in need sssss of ssssselling thisssss deed to my houssssse, of which i have not ussssed sssss in quite sssssome time..."

He would then look around at the familiar surroundings, where he had once scratched the desk. His demeaner had changed quite a bit, and he was now a bit more docile than he had been, but deep down inside of him, there was evil still lurking, and he still longed to play torturous games with people, but would not be able to do it just yet, until he found the right training, and the right way of doing it without getting into much trouble. The dark saurid looked towards whomever was taking care of him, and just simply awaited a reply, tapping a claw upon the desk of which he had scratched a few seasons ago, his impatience brewing as he waited for some form of service...

Shio is an upstanding Citizen
Him again... Though Shio was young, her memory didn't suffer, and nor could desks, like the human mind, repair themselves by forgetting old wounds. Rak had two enemies in that office, and even if one was a piece of furniture, it still counted. Things wouldn't be looking in favor for the Saurid creature if he hadn't pulled his act together. The elven girl smiled; perhaps she didn't have the right to deny a request for an already purchased home, but she could certainly turn down a sale on the premise of abandonment and disrepair. A state that, sadly, almost all of the more affordable houses in the city were in. They had done that free housing thing a while ago, but almost no one had come to claim a property.

Vortex wasn't exactly the carmel by the sea of the Allerian empire, it seemed. "Right... Property value has fallen a bit since the purchase of the house," at least that wasn't a lie. So far so good. "But if you've made any improvement to the structure, it might be able to fetch a bit more." Sighing, the child pushed herself away from her desk, and began flipping through a file folder in search of the status report. She'd become rather quick at it, and surfaced with the heavily-printed thing a few moments later. Her own work, it seemed... More and more of that was cropping up every day.

"Seems that it's worth about one thousand crowns as it stands..."

Her large-eyed gaze flickered to the claws tapping on the tabletop.

Not again.

Kujaro Psericly is an upstanding Citizen
OOC: Self-Modded, I will edit if there is a problem.

Kujaro hesitated before he entered the two story building, wondering if he should really sell his ancestral home. His family had lived in Vortex for generations, but now, with all his family dead, he had no purpose in this town. It was time to move on.

The Leopardi opened the door and stepped in. He immediatly cringed at the odd aroma in the room resonating from the red flowering plant. Ignoring it, he strode up to the elf sitting at the desk.

"I would like to sell my home. I believe it is worth ar least 1000 crowns, what do you say?" Kujaro asked the Aedile.

Looking up from her paperwork, the elf kindly replied, " That seems a fair deal." She expertly counted out 10 one-hundred dollar bank notes. "I will need the deed and I must see your visa."
Searching his pockets, Kujaro found both and handed them both over to the elf. After quickly examing the visa, she handed it back to the Leopardi along with the ten bank notes.

" There you go. A good brightening to you." She said politely.

Kujaro nodded his thanks and quickly left. He breathed a heavy sigh and whispered a goodbye to his old life.
