This thread is here to keep you, the PCs, informed of what kind of jobs are available in Vortex. It is strictly from an OOC standpoint, but I will do my best to help you get the job you want IC.

Some jobs have special requirements (PM me if you want to know more). If you do not meet them or you want your PC to get a certain job, but thinks he might need a little push in the right direction, PM me, and we’ll work something out.

All NPCs can be replaced. If you want to work in a certain shop that has a NPC clerk, simply post there and ask him or her if they need help.

If you want to replace the current High Priestess of Haya for example, let me know, and I'll try to arrange something.

Ok, I've decided Len will be Constable. Eventually. Of course Len will work his way up from the bottom, so he's applying for a job as a lowly gate guard or something.

Len is still evil. He's the reverse of an undercover cop: he has decided to become an undercover criminal, hoping that by joining the guards he will learn their patrol patterns and thus have better knowledge of his enemy.

I have no idea if this will work out or not, but that's the plan.

Well I already have mapped out a pretty cool plan to take me to the top, but unfortunately I have no clue where to apply for these said jobs and positions would this be done at the local Aedile office?

The higher city officials are appointed by the Thane (who is in turn appointed by the Governor). Lesser city officials are appointed by their direct superiors. You can apply at the location where these people normally work (ie the Thane in the Thane's mansion and the Aedile in the Aedile's office). The same goes if you wish to become a clerk at a shop; just visit the store.

For the jobs in Har'oloth, especially those of Matron or Priestess, it would be best to send Kalinda a PM. These functions would require more effort to obtain anyway.

Becoming a Toherran cultist (and recieve free necro or mysticist training!) is relatively easy at the White Night's Drink. Becoming a thief is even easier but becomes gradually more difficult if one wishes to raise in rank.
