"If this building needs necromancers then when I can prepare it I shall find some to train, we shall get this place back on the ground again." Dimitri smiled, Barra would be pleased anyway, and it would give him many servants at the least. He would need a private home to be built however, then this place could be remade into a school once again.
"I shall have many portals remade, tell me what ones to create and where. I like the idea of the entrance portal to stop the unknowing from entering, it will be even more effective than dark elven guards I feel. And as for this room for testing let us go to it, I shall claim anything that still moves down there for my own." Dimitri nodded ready to follow further while casting a glance up at the stars that remained. "We shall need to find out which star belongs to whom also, I want to recall them slowly."

„If you want to see the other room, follow me“, the lady said, content with playing the part of a guide for the time being. She moved through the room with the stars, down the stairs that could be found on the other side and into a vast, dark hall. Everything was black here. There was none of that precious stone that was laced with colourful veins. The floor was covered with black marble tiles and black columns lined the walls. There were doors of different sizes in the walls, a dozen doors or more, some open, some closed and some broken.
Four columns stood in the very center of the room, and a table could be found in the middle. It was empty. The entire room was empty. The room had once been used to test those that aspired to reach the rank of master, but what kind of tests did they have to pass? What did it take to prove that somebody was worthy of becoming a master necromancer?
The lady said nothing, but stood there and glanced at one of the many doors, a little smile on her face.

Dimitri set the girl dow by his feet and looked around the room. A cold sweat came over him, there was something about this thing that worried him greatly. "So this is where some were tested to be a necromancer then, to become a master must have been a great test and judging by the spirit of this face a potentially fatal one." His eyes cast about, in such placed he had no idea what to expect. The creature with him could protect herself far better than he could, he was a weak willed individual compared to her.
"Perhaps you might tell me what is left here if anything." He spoke slowly and carefully ready to move it the need became apparent, "I would prefer not to be jumped by a warg or dragon in this hall, and what were the test back in the old days out of intrest? Is this room inherently magical perhaps to help them or were the test merely one of self defense against whatever did once reside here?"

The girl sat on the floor and wrapped her arms around her knees. She didn’t move at all, but she looked at the room and wondered what they’d do to her now. Would they put her on the table and cut her up? Would they sacrifice her? This looked like a room where they sacrificed people to dark gods or summoned demons from Aeternia. She wept. All that had happened this brightening had overwhelmed her. She was scared, scared beyond measure.
“Please …” she whispered.
The lady ignored her. She lad little interest in what this creature said, although her constant crying was getting on her nerves slightly.
“They kept creatures here. Demons, monsters that those that wanted to be master had to fight”, she answered Dimitri’s questions. “They summoned demons and undead or turned people into such creatures.”
She cast a glance at one of the destroyed doors. “Apparently some of them were freed or managed to free themselves after the vysstichi were driven away. Shall we go and look for them?”
“Did you know that the Matron of House Kitrye’veresi kept a demon as a lover?” she asked as she inspected the room.
Even though she had had a hand in Alaret’s downfall, she had always found the woman’s courage admirable.
“I wonder what she did to make him obey …”

Dimitri nodded listening as a student might listen, slowly he spoke using noticable measured words and tone, now was not the time to annoy this thing. "I....I have always had an ambition to know more of the darker planes, planar cosmology is a fascinating subject, one that has always gripped my mind and held it in thrall." A pause and then after he licked his lips carefully he resumed, "Hosts of angelic beings I used to imagine down to the dark horned beings we hear about in stories." He smiled, "I have forever given up my chance to summon such beings, yet I can still speak with them if I can persuade someone to set up a portal for me, it is my ambition for this place, to commune with demons, though it is a dangerous business I understand, rather like dealing with the dead." He cast a glance to her and a twinkle in his iris was his only display of mirth.
"I suggest we do look for them, servants of any sort would be useful, allies just the same." He smiled, a few demons moving around his collegium would satisfy him, yet he knew well he had not the power to dominate them yet, that would take much time and effort. He looked to her and around the room, she would have to help him or it would be rather messy.

„No, not forever“, the lady said. “There is still a chance for you to be able to summon such beings, to summon demons and angels and even more fantastic creatures. There are means and ways to accomplish almost anything – if you dare …” She smiled softly. “I might even show you how, give you a brief glimpse of what can be found in the worlds beyond if I feel like it, if you give me one good reason why I should. A portal though, set up here … do you want to flood this place with demons? Right now you have no way to control them, to make them obey …”
As he suggested that they look for them, she nodded, showing him that she agreed. She walked to the columns that stood in the middle of the hall and touched one in a certain way. Apparently she had been here before – maybe more than once – if she was familiar with it …
A couple of doors – those doors that had not been destroyed – opened. “Behind one of those doors is a real monster, behind a few more are bones and undead creatures … although one of the more interesting things seems to have been taken away already …” she let him know. “Come with me if you dare. I would like to see how somebody who is not a necromancer handles such things and if he’s afraid of them or not …”

"One good reason?" Dimitri pondered for a moment before speaking carefully so as not to somehow offend this creature that slipped between wonderous and terrifying. "There are many reasons, perhaps to see how far I can move forwards in such matters, perhaps if you give me a taste of power now in the future I may be able to help you somehow." Dimitri nodded gently, "yes perhaps I am but a seed, nurture my spirit and help me to grow and perhaps one day I shall become something worth admiring and I may reap the sweetest fruit you have ever tried." He liked the analogy and looked at the being cautiously, hidden arcane power was always going to entice Dimitri.
"What has been taken away?" Knowledge that likely did not matter but Dimitri wanted to know anyway, out of intrest. "I shall take your test and deal wih whatever I find, one never gains any rewards without risk, but to admit to fear is no weakness, fear drives the soul and my soul remains driven at this moment above others."

„Perhaps it would be best to depart this place then“, the lady said. “And go somewhere else, where demons walk about freely. How would you like to visit House Kitrye’veresi? Do not worry, they will never know we were here, but there used to be a portal once from where the Matron summoned her demonic lovers and servants.” She’d asked him for one good reason, and he’d said to see how far he could move forward. She was interested in seeing how far somebody like him would be able to go, a human, a mortal, somebody who’d never practiced necromancy …
“… after my test …”
She smiled at him as if there was no reason to worry, as if she trusted him fully and saw him as more than just something to pass her time.
“One of the more exotic creatures”, she answered as he asked what had been taken away. “It had wings like a dragon, the body of a human and claws, sharp sharp enough to tear through flesh and bones. I would have welcomed the opportunity to study it, but it was stolen when the vysstichi were driven from this place.”
“Come now.”
She gave him a sign to follow her. She took him to a door behind which sounds could be heard. If Dimitri chose to enter, he would find … his worst nightmare … the thing he feared the most … no simple monster, no mere, violent creature that was driven solely by instinct, but something a little more complicated …
OOC: Behind the door is basically a creature that takes the shape of whatever a person fears the most. You can either write about what it is in your next post or send a PM to me and tell me what Dimitri’s worst fear is (or if he even has one).

"No....n....o........" Dimitri fell backwards out of the room he head entered and began to scrabble with his hands and knees away from the room, his breath came hard and his eyes were wide. Evidently he was afraid.
Behind him came a woman more beautiful than could be described, she floated gently above the ground and was clothed all in white, her hair such golden strands wafted about her head and she smiled the most radiant smile one could ever imagine. Dimitri turned to look at her his face going white as she reached out a hand and beckoned to him.
In his mind this is what the deity Diana was, the figure he love and feared more than any, for she could see past his lies into his dark heart and she wanted to change him, he feared such change and he feared her. Dimitri covered his eyes and wailed, "Make it stop! Damn you make it stop!"

Diana, the queen of Aetheria, a goddess worshipped throughout the Aelyrian Empire, more popular than even Ioannes himself. Diana, the one who emperors and beggars alike turned to, impossibly beautiful and as some would say impossibly arrogant. Very few feared her, not the way Dimitri feared her. They wanted to please her, they were afraid that the goddess wouldn’t consider their efforts worthwhile, but they did not harbour such intense feelings.
“I won’t make it stop”, came the lady’s voice. “You need to conquer your fears if you want to win this fight, if you want to come out on top. Nobody in this world is invincible. Gods and devils alike will fall, and the most dangerous of monsters can be killed. You only need to dare. You only have to try. With each step, each strike of your sword, each spell that you cast it will become easier. Don’t you see that giving up is exactly what it wants?”
Diana just stood there. Her eyes were full of accusation, eyes that were red like blood. She smiled at him, the most radiant smile anyone could imagine and beckoned him to come to her. “I can make it stop.” Her voice was sweet as honey. “I can make the pain stop, I can make the fear stop, I can make all the things that trouble you stop. You only need to join me, to give yourself to me.”

Dimitri took his hands away and merely gaped, on iss backside he carefully edged himself away in a state of shock. His logical mind that normally got him outof any scrapes was filled with a grim dread, carefully and keeping his eyes fixed upon her he shakily got to his feet. Gingerly he took a step towards her. His eyes flashed between the two extremes, Diana and the monster, it was a mirror of life. A dichotemy, good and evil and Dimitri not for the first time had to choose.
Slowly he walked towards Diana and embraced her, his arms went around her, and he nestled his face in her shoulder, carefully he whispered, "I am sorry, I can never forgive you for what you have done to me." With all his muscles he began to squeeze as tightly as he could, wrapping the being in a bearhug that he hoped would crush it. His arms were about her waist and his face began to glisten, tears were born from his sparkling blue eyes and he cast them upwards as he worked, "forgive me" he whispered to noone but the cold dank air.

She looked at him. Her eyes were full of understanding. She wanted to forgive him. She was a perfect imitation of a goddess of Aeternia, apart from those eyes. But then again, maybe something, some kind of pain had caused her eyes to become red like blood. She felt warm in his embrace, and she was soft, but she smelled of flowers, not of sweat like an ordinary human being. Her golden hair tickled his skin. She didn’t say anything even as he spoke those fateful words. She just looked at him from out of those unnatural eyes.
She didn’t gasp as he sought to crush her, didn’t cry out in pain as a mortal woman would. Maybe she was a goddess after all – or maybe she was something more, something more sinister, a monster, left over from ancient times, used to test his skills by a woman who was equally mad and bloodthirsty. He didn’t seem to be able to hurt her, at least not with his hands. Physical pain didn’t seem to matter to her.
„You will never be forgiven“, she whispered, and this time she didn’t sound gentle at all. „You will burn in Aeternia for what you have done! You will never be forgiven, and you will never be able to hurt me. Your life will be in pain, and you will lose everything you have ever fought for! Traitor!“

He pulled back and looked hurt for a moment, truth be told he expected her to merely crumple in his strong grip and that would be the end of it. The excess conversing took him by suprise and he gaped at her for a moment lost in those crimson eyes.
"I....I..." He got a hold of himself and snarled, "I gave you up long ago, I dont wish to be forgiven by you, and I shall hurt you. Each one of your followers I convert to me, each one I send to you in the bloodiest way possible, that will hurt your perfect soul wont it!" He snarled and pushed away and spat out at her, "Pain completes me, being a traitor is my proudest accolade and everything I have fought for comes not from you but from my own works." He laughed softly and swiped a hand before him cutting the air, "I would sooner die a hundred deaths below the ground than endure a mockery at your side, hag queen!" He charged her then, poucing like a sinew filled warg and aiming his sharpened teeth for her throat.

Diana didn’t bleed as he aimed his teeth for her throat. Any other woman would have struggled, would have screamed, would have had a hard time breathing, but she almost seemed comfortable – almost. His words had not been without effect on him. No, she wasn’t angry. She didn’t condemn him further like somebody who was familiar with her and her church probably expected. No, the goddess of Aetheria seemed confused.
„You do not fear me“, she said, and her voice trembled a little. „I clearly saw that I was the being you feared the most, and yet you do not tremble. Your hatred of me seems almost stronger now. Neither forgiveness, neither the offer to join me nor threats seem to work on you. I have never met somebody like you. The necromancers locked me up here. They were scared of me. They viewed me as one of the most dangerous beings there is.“
„But all that doesn’t seem to matter to you.“
The Queen of Aetheria looked at him.
„Who are you?“

Dimitri pulled his head back wary of another trick and smiled softly, his hands became tighter slightly again but rather to keep her still as opposed to hurting her, "I am Dimitri Wladisyaw, Duke of Vortex and Lord of this Collegium." He tilted his head softly, "If I was before Diana, I would be afraid, she would hurt me I am sure, I am the great betrayer, I twist like a snake on everyone and everything I hold dear." Dimitri nodded carefully, "You are not Diana, I see that now. I do not think I could give my true fear a form in truth, it would be endless damnantion forever."
He paused, "You are but a dangerous facade, but in my eyes you are beautiful in whatever form, and you do not deserve to be restrained." He paused, "Can we talk whatever you are, and come to an agreement? Perhaps in time we might help each other." In truth some lies had been told, fear still gripped his stomach and perhaps this would be visible in his flickering iris or the fact his hands shook slightly as he held her.
