Stalking in the Streets (Open)
The month of Melora, Season of Spring
Era II of the Celestine Mandate, Era XIV Post Fractum
Paradigm Shift: 12 New Constellastions Discovered
Teilach looked up at the darkened skies before snorting and gazing back down at the street, fur fluffed up against the elements as he walked, his foot falls light as he stepped. He ducked down, Teilach walked down the streets, not really caring where exactly he was going, simply reacquainting himself with the city, his only companion was a water skin who sloshed at his every step and sway.
A partially white katta must of been an odd sight in such a dark city, but his black worn clothes suggested he was far from being a tourist.
He shifted and swayed with the shadows, dancing quietly to the beat of the city's life (or death whichever one preferred) as his tail swished, ears flicking to catch the sound of those passing him by. It was a great darkening to get into some trouble. Silently, the Katta pondered just how much trouble he could get into, offering himself a grin - he decided a lot.

Odd how it almost always seemed to be dark and overshadowed in Vortex. Rain sluiced down from the skies onto the rooftops, sprinkling against slate and making loud plops as their remnants hit the ground. Tiny gusts of wind eddied around the Katta's damp fur. It was perhaps unfortunate that Teilach was so tall, for a round and fat Katta would have done better in the cold.
"Eh. Buddy. Spare us a crown?"
A hoarse voice came up from the shadows somewhere to the left of the Katta. On the ground was a man, sitting in a deep cart; apparently legless. His hair was greased, and he appeared to be of indeterminate origin- a mishmash of a variety of human races. His upper limbs, however, were rather muscular to compensate, as if from pushing the cart around; but for the present moment all he was using them for was to scratch his rather scraggly beard.
"Whatcha doing getting wet out here anyhow?"

Teilach froze, placed a hand on a lean hip and pivoted to gaze at the Human, eyes politely blank as he observed the speaker. A long grey tail swished like a lazy serpent as he gazed down at the legless Human, his lean body posed in a rather scholarly manner that must of came from his Persetti ancestors.
"Crowns," he sighed. "certainly..." he reached into his only pocket and lightly tossed the golden coins at the man, one by one so he could easily catch them. 5 in total. "No need to come after me, that is all I have on my corpse."
A chill bit through the Katta's long fur.
"Wet?" he turned his green-and-blue orbed eyes to the sky in consideration. "What else do homeless people get when it rains?" Teilach smiled softly before turning his head, intent on continuing his pace to nowhere, but if the man wanted to have a bit of smalltalk, the Katta supposed he was up for it, providing he did not find himself with a new mouth slashed across his throat. "I was headed for the library.. but I suppose that it is not opened this late..."

OOC: Sorry for the delays, in the middle of exam season.
"Eh? Library? Whatcha planning on that place for? Filled with books it might be, but not filled with truth. Truth's a lot harder to come by these places. Been hidden deep. Where folk don't get wet."
The man gave a throaty chuckle, scratching his chin with one thick finger.
"But you must be looking for something around here. Everyone in Vortex is looking for something. Scrambling for cover before the big one hits. Am I right?"
A broad wink at Teilach, as he wrinkled his nose. A cart passed by noisily, with the clatter of hooves against the mush coating the street tracking off into the distance. The smell of odd spices followed it.
"Still, surface types have ta stick together. Doesn't matter what's happening below. We got our city, they got theres, and its all we can do to stay out of the way. But really. Ya got a home here? Childrun? Wife?"

Teilach idly smiled, showing a lot of sharp teeth, bu this eyes remained fairly distant as he gazed down at the Human, his ears flicked, the only sign that he had even hear the cart as it passed by, paying no mind to the spices (which no doubt was probably convering the scent of decaying flesh).
"I wouldn't know," the Katta replied, shifting away as if bored. "All I have are my orders, I could care less if Vortex and its Underworld are swallowed by Jalat and burn." Silently, the lean Katta took a step away and intended to walk away.
OoC: No problem.

With a curious glance to the conversation emerging between the two figures nearby, Rioshi casually strolled forth from the shadows of the nearby buildings, outlined amidst the scarce lights around the city edges. He was always interested in information- such a perilous, yet beautiful game it was... In that regard he supposed he was unlike most of the Moonstars, but Rioshi was more than happy to take advantage of this to the utmost of his abilities. Now that the girl was missing, he had to find something to occupy his time, no?
Thus pondered, the Calicori leaned forward and stared at the two in succession. What else to do after all, when everything has been turned crazy round these parts? At a second glace, the Katta spoke.
"Serale. Nice bit of weather we've been having, no?"

Teilach arched and eyebrow, turning into the rain, elegantly posed as ever - as if the rain had no effect on his mood, much less his lean, long body.
"Jalat has better weather in his home," dryly replied Teilach, observing the newcomer, not daring to offer his back to the man in the cart he stepped politely aside so that they could all see each other equally. "Not very often we see your kind out and about in the rain," he smiled a bit cruelly. "You Calicori always did like your fur groomed to perfection - or is that an Omnicat. Quite vain creatures."
He gazed at Rioshi with unblinking eyes before turning back to the mix-blood Human. "Do you know which way the library is and if it is opened? Perhaps we can all seek shelter there..."
OoC: pardon my absence - I was getting burnt out. ;(

The light steps of Kalenel carried him through the streets on the moon filled night of Vortex. He has been walking the very streets for 30 patterns now, and knew them as well as any other. He was there when the disease came around and made everyone a mass murderer, he was there the night the orcs attacked, and he would most likely be there when the citizens of Vortex destroy themselves all together.
Feeling not the spirit to cause mischief, Kalenel eventually came upon a group of dark city's citizens. By the time he reached them, he heard a snippet about the location of the city's library.
"I know where the library is, you need a guide katta?" The vysstichi asked, feeling an abnormal feeling of kindess. 'Might as well', Kalenel thought, he had nothing better to do.

It was night, it was raining, and there were some new comers in the area, he could hear them a mile away, his keen sense of hearing rarely letting him down. It was one of the pinnical of his supreme race. Though, it had its downfalls, as he couldn't see a hop skip and jump away from himself. Mostly foggy colors and shapes, though....nothing had a face to him. Just sounds with shapes in this catastrophic blurr of a world he exprienced. And the rain didn't help the situation much, but being a creature with Echolocation, it was hardly an irritant in the midsts of his ability and scope.
Walking slyly toward the bunch, with an unyearning effect of caution and sway, almost as if he was morphing from one position to the next, he arrived to the scene of the crime...the crime being, that there was none! Some unfamiliar voice lurked around, and being the guy that he is, couldn't resist a tasty morsel of trouble and a glass of strife..Though, it would be a few moment before this bat could muster up a cause which will carry in, on wings of mist, a desirable result.
"Ah, my my, what do we have here? Tourists? Heros? Villians? Ah, it matters not really, i don't care...My name is Einhandr, and who might you loud people be?"
Being closer, he could no make out the shapes of everyone, there appeared to be some elves and some, uh..cats? Strange things to say the least, atleast, the cats were. He had never really seen one of those, perhaps thats why he figured them new...new voice and all..voice of a, cat?

With an idle look across from the side, Rioshi shook his head. "I may be vain- of that I cannot deny- but I have no wish to follow in that portion of my lineage. Calicori I may be, but my heart is different than the rest."
With that said, the Calicori tilted his head to the side, wondering just how exactly so many people had all begun to spring out of their homes at such a time that he might come out. Yet the more the merrier, so Rioshi settled for what was at hand and returned to the conversation.
"However, I would apreciate your not comparing me with any omnicat association. It is quite... unneccessary. I doubt you would like to be condemned based on the actions of your people, no?"

Teilach's eyes roved over the newcomers, debating their worth and merit, a Calicori, a Theylri, and a Dark Elf.
"It does not matter what I judge you on as long as you receive it like all citizens," remarked the Katta evenly at Rioshi. He hated being surrounded and it was starting to show a rather foul mood.
His hand flicked out in a dismissive gesture at the Theylri before he turned and addressed that newcomer as well. "There are no heroes in Vortex, only villains."
His eyes narrowed on the Vyssie. "Assistance I need not." Sweat was hidden by the rain that trickled down Teilach's back. A Dark Skinned One, he quietly hoped none of the houses had figured out his mission for the Lady of Angels.
In the darkness of the stormy night, the Katta gulped softly and was ready to flee.

Passing an indifferent look over the steady crowd, the Katta shrugged. Heroes they might not be, but everyone has their reasons to come to such a pit as this- and not everyone had the same base motive as Teilach. Moonstar though he may be, it was probably best to take what he could over the dimly lit city and make the most out of his time in like places. Not as fun that way, but certainly more interesting when loose lips and soft tongues were at work in Vortex.
Taking a step back in hesitation, Rioshi let fly a passing thought. "Then tell me, what might you guess we judge upon you in turn? Surely if you have this clear cut portrayal of ourselves, you might take what we see of your own person..."

"I have already been judged, kitta, and I have been condemned to my own fate," began Teilach. "Everything is encompassed within life and death. Everything else is but a part of these two most sacred things, everything else is but a function to fulfill life and death in a more perfect, or less perfect."
His eyes roved over the skies, wincing slightly when a raindrop slapped into his bare eye.
"But now, I must go to the library, my time is running out and I may never be able to greet Jalat if I fail her."
Teilach ducked his head and began to press towards the Vortex Library.
OoC: pardon the wrong account XD

Growing annyoed with the growing number of commoners, Kalenel threw his cloak hood upon his head once again. With a nod, he began on his way back to his residence in the Southern Quarter.

Staring softly after the departing fellows going back their seperate ways, Rioshi slipped in an idle chuckle from the darkness and melded into the shadows of Vortex, intent on his midnight stroll. He would be there, when he was needed.
"Perfection itself is a flaw, for there is none like it. Perfect or no, all things are alike in the solemn embrace of death. Fufill your duties as you wish, and take best of what is at hand. It has been a pleasure, Teilach."
As the raindrops fell soundlessly to the streets below, the Katta drifted slowly into the night, the shades whispering in his footsteps along the way.
