Drip Drip Drop [Dimitri]

OOC; it would have taken forever to get to this point, I put in ifs and hads and shoulds. Its up to your pc what he does, so its ultimately his choice. I was doing my best to describe everything thats taking place, and where my pc is and what your pc would discover had he decided to venture inside.

It was in the slums, another normal darkening with same hussle and bustle of normal life amidst the solemn darkness. In the far corner there was a shrill scream and then muffled silence it had come from an abandoned building of sorts. It was up to Dimitri to investigate and if he had he would find himself entering the building and walking up the stairs to follow the sound, up to the top floor. The eerie building itself was falling apart and there was little visible light, and in the room where the calamity had happened there was a sudden scamper before the door swung open.

Had Dimitri ventured inside he would discover the morbid secret in this room, blood plastered across the walls while red hand prints indicated a struggle it was a grisly crime scene indeed. But there was no body to be found, the only clue was bloodied foot prints that scaled the wall and beside these disturbing tracks was a wide fresh streak of scarlet. It was as if the assailant had simply walked on the wall to reach the rafters uptop with its victim in hand, no visible means of getting up there and it was about 20 feet above the ground.

Blood was dripping in a rythmic pitter patter, that was forming a pool in the center of the room. The sound of flesh being torn, while a deathly grim gurgle could be faintly heard as the man desperatly tried to scream but was muffled because he was drowning while his lungs were filling with blood.

Should Dimitri look up, he would discover a sickening display. A figure shrouded in darkness with its fangs imbedded in the mans neck, a pair of emerald green eyes were upon Dimitri and almost suddenly they began to glow illustriously like a firefly's beacon as if demonic gemstones dug from the infernal pits of aeternia. It was similiar to what a jaguar did with its meal, dragged it up to high ground to eat in peace.

It would have appeared that had he decided to come into the building, he would have stumbled across a nocturnal raptor in the process of feeding.

No words came from the stranger atop the rafters, the victim hushed now dead.

Only one sound disrupted the silence the spine chilling drip drip drop of the blood droplets hitting the ground forming the puddle.

He had seen worse but he was always careful. His sword was out in a moment and scraping back and forth across the floorboards, he smiled showing sharpened teeth. "Well well, what a display." In a moment he had backed out from the building, and across the street to duck behind an overturned wagon. His own guards would be nearby somewhere so he worried little. He was more intrigued to see what this beast did next, perhaps flee or perhaps speak to him as they had done before.

He had merely come up to look at the stars, but it seemed fate was in a cruel mood this evening.

When Dimitri had spoken to himself, he had been awarded an ushered gleeful murmur of mischievous amusement. The entity that lurked in the rafters, wouldnt give chase to someone she did not know and was currently rather pleased with her meal that satisfied her carnal palat.

If Dimitri had felt that he was safe with his guards, he was very much mistaken. There was a difference between guards, and assassins. Though his guards were hidden, she did command hitman of various walks of life. Rather then hide, they blended with there surroundings like chameleons. They had no purpose to attack, but if Dimitri did in fact act upon a capricious whim to mobilize them her assassins would make quick work of his scattered or perhaps clustered forces should they reveal themselves with hostile intent.

It had ultimately been his choice to meet with a vampire, but when he had walked out the door he had proven that even the great bear of arium was afraid of what lurked in the darkness. For such a strong man, such a bold act of weakness was disgusting.

He had ultimately lost the aid of the daughter of antediluvian, and with it the prizes that she did have. The assassin army, the slave trade between the vysstichi, and even total control of armed forces in imperia including mercenaries and bounty hunters, even aid from house hun'viir itself and if that wasnt enogh a stronger tie with barra for she was also his lover. It was not all of her things, she had one last enterprise to assimiliate into her arsenal but all this could have been had at his fingertips...

But he had proven himself unworthy of the attention of the Blood Lords daughter, for without his blanket of safety he was a coward. Unknown to the two, they had a tie and that was Anora it had been such a needless waste.

Dimitri waited for some time, it was important to be patient in all things, to allow time to offer hints about situations and then strike at the vital moment. But it seemed his quarry was never to move and he would need to strike back. fear gripped his heart for a moment as he stood and from his broken left hand the three chains the Imperials had tried to hold him with dropped down. As he walked across the street they trailed along the stone and he backed against a wall and attempted to peer into the building before entering. He preferred to not know where his allies where, if he did not know he could not give them away.

Slowly the blade of his sword entered the house and he behind it staring upwards. "I know your kind, drop down and speak with me, but keep your distance." He smiled gently and blocked the door giving himself a useful defensive position if things became nasty.

It had appeared as though this entity had redeemed himself, it caused her to smile to herself. But she wouldnt leap down from her perch, she was rather happy where she was for the moment. But he did voice something rather suspicious, that he had dealt with her kind before. There was only two Nosferatu in this city that this particular sanguivore did know of, herself and another.

"So you have met another? No, you have not! Merely the backwash of our kind, an accident like the third houses abominations unwanted and abandoned. Have you heard her wimper about times long past? Its disgusting, dont you agree?

Never, refer to her as though she were on the same level as me. I am the daughter of the blood lord, and I will not have you compare me to such trash."

Lady Of Angels gave off the heir of some pompous spoiled brat, it was certainly a noble quality. She also seemed to not appreciate the inclination that the other vampire was her equal, it certainly did seem to cause a slight ripple in the water. Her voice however was as soft as velvet but it carried a lofty tone of arrogance and pride.

"So tell me, why does the fly tell the spider to leave its web?

Surely you are safer if I stay where I am."

Again there came that murmer of wrathful glee.

"So tell me, tell me of your blood what makes you so special? Perhaps if your an interesting fellow I just might come down.

But I do as I wish, not what you ask."

The vampire seemed to be in a chatty mood tonight, but there was something about the way she spoke to him. As if she was angry, the last statement revealed the truth to her feeling. Lady Of Angels was far different from other women he had met, she did not care to be told what to do as a father or mother would do to a son or daughter.

Though he had her intrigued for the moment

Dimitri laughed suddenly and replaced his sword, his great gauntlets still hung from his waist and his chain was wrapped around his hand again. "I know not what you are creature but you are not what I feared." She lacked too much of the abilities, of the cold blooded nature, she was a hothead, the other was merely quiet, that was what really made Dimitri afraid, the silence.

"I am impressed you find yourself up there but perhaps it would be wise to come down now, one murder is enough for one night I feel." He paused and smiled up at her adjusting his fine silken gloves, "Tell me what you are....really?"

Lady Of Angels merely droped her victim from the rafters, he fell and landed with a thunk on the ground. His neck was torn to shredds, and his body was twisted in a look of shrill horror as his eyes were still wide open staring blankly in dimitri's direction.

I have already told you what I am, I am the daughter of the Dark One.
Do not make me cross, I am Barras lover if you meddle with me he will show you depths of pain never before explored he will submerge you in a hell that not even jorel could bring himself to usher forth.

I am Lady Of Angels, what is your name pretell?

Dimitri moved over to the corpse, gently he knelt and placed his hand over the man's face, gently he closed the eyes and looked up at the girl flashing a smile, rows of sharpened teeth. Slowly he stood again and laughed gently, "So Barra has taken a lover has he, I thought he only took those that never spoke nor moved without prompting." Dimitri chukled gently and bowed gently before speaking, "I myself am Dimitri Wladisyaw Duke of this fair city and the lands that surround it, Lord of the Collegium and far worse that you could imagine girl."

He smiled genially and spoke again lightly, "You make two errors in your threat, first you assume Barra is the greatest of this cities forces. He is notable but pales in comparison to a few of my associates, second Barra does very well by me, it is much easier to get corpses for your work when you know the man who controls the guard and the army, I also procure a large amount of his products. If I were to guess I would guess Barra would sooner keep me alive than satisfy his latest squeeze for a moment." He did not beleive Barra had taken a lover who could think of her own free will, she was also naive, Toherro was more and glorious compared to Barra, slowly Dimitri felt himself clawing an advantage in this situation.

"In my travels I have met many who call themselves by titles, I warn you however arrogance and notability are dangerous, find yourself a less becoming name, dont do murder in the open and be nice to everyone, then you can screw them as you rise above them." Dimitri adjusted his gloves and spoke idly, "Now are you going to come down and talk to me or must we continue this rediculous gravity defying charade?"

Sure Brahkula did talk alot but she never gave out blatant facts, she now new a few things about him. She had his name, it was Dimitri and she knew that name rather well as he had in fact at one point been the captain of the guard with such a position and title a little fame was bound to happen. But interestingly he had suddenly vanished from his office and that there was a rumored bounty on him issued by the thane soon after.

It gave her a window an oppurtunity to analyze the information further. If he was no longer in office yet still had control over the guards and the army then that must have meant he was playing the role of puppet master and pulling the strings of the new person in that position. She also new some other facts about him, when he was captain of the guard he had refered to himself as the great bear of arium and had made a rather big show of himself whenever he had the oppurtunity. Beyond this she now knew where he dwelled, the collegium of dark arts giving her the means to be able to black mail his allies or simply see them hanged or perhaps even make the thane mobilize her forces into harloth with the first houses consent. And even if that failed, all she needed to do was lul Barra in bed and complain about it and have him stop his flow of undead.

Dimitri could have very well had that advantage, but when he gave her that down pour of information he had ultimately defeated himself. Perhaps Brahkula wasn't as naive as he had first anticipated, she had baited him with words and like the bear he was he stuck his foot knee deep into its verbal trap.

But on the other hand that also meant he had his uses.

So says the great bear of arium, though I must admit you have caught my attention. Perhaps if you give me some books from the collegium I might be interested in introducing myself in person, but perhaps you are right maybe I am being ridiculous.

Brahkula would then leap down from the rafters and land in a crouching position, before slowly raising herself up. She was on the ground now, but was she alone? Rumor had it she had a pet, tall tales had been woven of her requesting a giant widow from the slaver mistress alara. Did something else lurk up above in those rafters? Her guardian?

He bowed as she stood before him at last inwardly impressed by her balance and poise. While he had no doubt now that she was a human she clearly deserved some respect, despite her clearly deranged mind, then again Dimitri mused he was probably deranged himself so it mattered little.

"My collection of books is extensive, dark and not avaliable for loaning, perhaps one day you may come and read in my Collegium but until then I must decline your request I am afraid." Treatises on necromancy, golem crafting and demons were probably best not to spread about the city. "I have met many beings that have induced me to pass water on first sight and they always had the good grace to at least give a name for free." He smiled at her in a genial way quite detached from his appearance which for all intents and purposes was that of a necromancer, "You may tell me you have bedded Barra and use that to think you are somebody in the lowercity, that gets you nothing, we are all judged by merits in the eyes of the moonkissed Elves, remember that if you remember nothing else from this genial little chat." He eyed her up again and smirked, she was dangerous perhaps but in what way he knew not.

"I tire of this game anyway Lady of Angels, I know not what your real name is, though I could check rather easily I imagine you have used the gates to this city at least once, your name has passed by my eyes before. I know someone by that audacious titles owns one of the many brothels in this place, a foolish notion a brothel." he grinned, "Any man of any worth keeps his own, sharing is so disgusting, to have your own women touched by another." He wondered why Barras was tupping her, power most likely or perhaps he wanted to sample live beings again, perhaps he was content to indulge this occasional vice among his usual fetish.

"I shall give you one thing, I respect those who can murder easily, it helps one to get ahead, being rather cold blooded about this sort of thing." He smiled still and continued, "I always like to meet fellow murders and movers from my circle, how are you finding my city?"
