She eyed Dimitri for a moment as he came closer, keeping outside of reach at all times. “I don’t consider myself untouchable, though I do my very best to make it hard for those that are out to get me. Mostly I try to avoid pushing people to the point where they want to get rid of me. As for not liking you…” She thought on how to put it for a moment. “Let’s just say I can imagine easier people to work with. But you’re still alive are you? That must mean I don’t dislike you all that much.” She grinned. Without him, the guard would still have been a mess, so it’s not that she didn’t appreciate his work. It were his hobbies that were rather unfortunate.

“You can always try to buy some land from the Aedile’s. It’ll have to be through a proxy though as our good friend the Provost has made it so that you no longer can officially own things. Awarding anything myself regarding certain privileges like some nobility have… well, aside from that I’d have to look up if that’s even within my powers, it’ll be hard to justify handing them out to a wanted criminal.” She shrugged. “I don’t feel like going through much trouble over it honestly. As far as I’m concerned, you can name any price you want and it won’t change my mind much.” She smiled deviously. “And no, I’m not some holy being that can’t be bought out, you just don’t have anything that I’m interested enough in that it will matter.

"I beleive Lady Thane that you are capable of great wickedness which a Thane of Vortex needs, we each have our owna reas we shall work within them I hope." He nodded and smiled, "Perhaps I shall aquire some land in the name of another."

He paused and resumed clearly thinking there was more to discuss, "But come it seems a shame that our meeting should produce no tangible results, I have manpower and you have control over the city, I am sure if we combine our resources we could improve parts of the city." Dimitri smiled, "Perhaps you would agree to allow me to imporove the defenses of the city? Expand this very Citadel into something more akin to a proper bulwark and expand the walls, and if you wish to give Dorvold's mining company the liscence to go and mine on Vortexian land all the better, I am sure some of our profits would find its way to the city."

Amber frowned. “Talking about war again? Do you know something I don’t?” He seemed to be very keen to improve the cities defences. She didn’t see why it would make a difference though. If it came to it, it wouldn’t be the guards or the army that Vortex would have to rely on for victory. “Why expand walls? Isn’t it easier to defend a smaller area when pressed back? Not to mention walls will either hold back everyone or none. If they deploy Arcane power then you could just as well have had no walls at all, if they don’t they’ll be stuck throwing wave after wave against you until you run out of arrows or something.” She shrugged. She could see the need for walls to keep out bandits and renegades, but any decent army going against Vortex would have to bring mages, thus wall would be breached in moments.

“As for the licence, it seems like a good idea, but any reason why it should go through me instead of the normal channels?” She had no idea what the requirements and/or costs for such a thing were, so as far as she was concerned, Dorvold could ask the Aedile just as well as she could.
