In
the Imperial Trade Embassy’s administrative centre on the first floor, the office of the ambassador for Vortex lay. Inside, the office was much like the standard ones, but with some touches to link it to the city it represented. The large window behind the desk had purple curtains with black patterns on them, the Vortex colours. Against the dark wooden walls on the right a sword and an axe were hung up. The axe was a quality weapon from the Vortexian smithies, adorned with silver linings for aesthetic purposes, but primarily a showmanship of quality weaponry. The sword had golden patterns on it and a few gems in the hilt, mainly being of ornamental value.
To the left was a small table with four comfortable chairs set around to make lengthy meetings more bearable. Right next to it stood a small cabinet that held several kinds of drinks for guests as well as a box with Har’oloth’s fabled mushrooms to serve as a treat. A bit further against the back of the office stood another cabinet, for files and documents this time, with a couple of bookshelves on top of it.
In the middle of the room stood the desk of the city’s ambassador, covered with various papers most of the time and not always very orderly. Two chairs stood in front of it and behind it sat a woman nearing her thirties with curling black hair up to her shoulders. She always seemed to be busy with something, but always set her work aside for a moment if anyone entered.
