Finding a place to call home
Upon entering the mighty city of Vortex, Gahl stood back in awe. Never had he seen so many people and so many buildings. This will be alot harder than i thinked. Gahl told himself, approaching nearby people and trying to get there attention.
Nothing seemed to work, person after person walked past the orc. A wave of doubt begin to flood Gahl as he could not get his message across in time to attract a response. Holding the deed in his right hand and franticly waving his left hand at passers by, Gahl began to look at the numerous streets and hoping by chance to come across his fathers mysterious home.
Desperation began to take hold of Gahl as darkness began to set in, although Gahl was a imposing figure he did not want to be outside in a strange place after dark. This was strange for an orc to feel, but something inside told him he must take shelter or he may suffer a dire fate.

With his dark-elven face hidden with his raven black cloak, Kalenel walked briskly through the streets of Vortex on his way back from the Fitness and Bones. Dodging around people as he made his way, Kalenel stopped suddenly as a large hand appeared right in the path of his face. Taking a quick step back, Kalenel observed the large orc with wide eyes.
"Need some help?" Kalenel said, without really thinking about his words. He saw that the orc had a deed in his hand, and at the same time wondered why he seemed so quiet. Luckily for the orc, Kalenel was not afraid of the species and looked at them as close equals.

Gahl was taken back by the dark elf, stunned that he had at last found someone who may be willing be help. Ok talk slow and you will be ok. Gahl reassured himself and his began to ask for dirctions. Nee..... nee... need Gahl paused and took a deep breath to compose himself, the last thing he needed was to lose the only offer of help he had since entering the gates.
I nee... need go t.. t.. t.. frustration began to grow as Gahl again struggled to portray his needs, shoulders dropping Gahl lowered his head. He then pointed to the address wrote on the deed, hoping the elf would still assist him.

One of the young prince's eyebrows perked as he observed the orc struggle through his attempt at speaking. The orc seemed of a good enough heart, and Kalenel wasn't sure if that was a good thing or not in the dark city of Vortex. He could care less for most things, including the vice for crowns and wealth. So it was something odd that Kalenel immediantly took a liking for the orc, and he quickly found himself wanting to help and understand him.
"You want...you want to go here, is that right," he spoke as he gestured toward the listed address. Kalenel did not take the time to speak too slowly, and he hoped that the orc would understand him. Even if he came to like the orc, he would not take any kind of pity on him or look down upon him.
ooc: I suspect your house will be in the Southern Quarter, where almost all starting deeds are located. We can be neighbors if you want, that would be fun to play out.

OOC: Sounds good to me, oh and thanks for replying...this my first chance at rp'n here
IC: Gahl raised his head, and nodded slowly. A smile emerged across the orcs face revealing the stained and chipped ivory within his mouth, at last someone to help him, now his dream can begin to manifest itself. First his shelter then to find a way to prepare his body and mind so his soul can be guided by the will of Jalat.

Kalenel was about to look back to the orc and return the smile when he took a closer look at the deed he held. To his surprise, he and the orc were to be next door neighbors! "This deed is for the home next to mine, looks like we're to be neighbors my friend," Kalenel said with a smile as he bade the orc to follow him to the heart of the Southern Quarter.
"So what are your..." Kalenel stopped himself, knowing the orc would have too hard a time answering. If the orc and he were to become friends, they would have to find some way to communicate.
"My name is Kalenel Vamai'tai, and yours?" The fallen prince asked, finally breaking the silence as they weaved in and out of the ways of others.

Gahl's luck seemed to continue as he heard how his saviour was also his neighbour. Scampering through the streets Gahl tried to remember landmarks so he could make his own way back if needed.
Gahl the Insightful It was the only thing he had ever been able to say fluently, the name given to him had meant to be sarcastic, however Gahl looked at it as showing his understanding of what Jalat had intended for him to do. Y... Y... You live h... h... here l.. long? Gahl asked his companion>
Although unable to speak well Gahl enjoyed listening to others, sometimes it gave him an insight to how they worked and their strengths and weaknesses. Allies are needed if his dream is to be fulfilled, and maybe he had found his first.

"My whole life friend," Kalenel said with a geniune smile. "Although the majority of that was spent Har'oloth." Pausing abrubtly, Kalenel turned to Gahl. "You do know of Har'oloth, don't you?"
Before the young warrior knew it, they had come to their destination. Kalenel's house was as beaten and torn as most of the others in the poverty ridden Southern Quarter. Gahl's was right beside it, patiently awaiting it's new master.
ooc: Feel free to describe your lovely abode! Remember, it's probably run down like the other houses in the Southern Quarter.

The building that the dark elf had taken Gahl too apeeared to be well constructed. However, upon a closer inspection holes could been seen upon the roof and the door did not appear to be able to close fully. This place had been abanded for some time and was in desperate need of care and attention.
I f... f... f... from w... w... wilds. Gahl took a deep breath before continuing, he felt strange, his new companion had not poked fun at all and appeared to be very patient. Maybe not all people are mean. He thought to himself as he continued to speak. Not b... b... been in c... c... c... city. Y... y... you want d... d... d... drink?
Gahl was inviting his friend in, not knowing if he infact had anything inside to make a drink with. He hoped he would find a bottle or two of his fathers famous home brew, which was made with the blood of humans rather than water. Aproaching the front door Gahl reached for the handle, only to have the door fall inside, dust filled the one roomed hovel making it difficult to see inside.
As the dust settled only two items could be seen inside, a wooden bench and a small crate, which appeared to be used as a table. Gahl entered inside and beckoned Kalenel to follow.

Following his companions words carefully, Kalenel smiled happily as he understood the request. "How could I resist," Kalenel said with a grin as he followed Gahl through the door of his house; and quite literally, they went "through" the door.

Gahl surveyed the area, looking for any sort of refreshment. The room was bare, the only place anything could be stored was the crate, so Gahl lifted up onto the bench, to his suprise it had weight. Opening it up Gahl peered inside, it contained 2 green bottles filled with a liquid, a few days dried rations, a old dagger and a string necklace.
Gahl picked up the dagger and string necklace, they seemed familiar althought he had never seen them, the two items were those descriped to him by his father. The dagger was the weapon used for his first kill and the necklace held a tooth of the boar he had slain. A feeling of pride engulfed Gahl as he placed the dagger onto his belt and placed the necklace around his neck. He now reached in an took out the two bottles, blowing the dust off them he passed one to his guest.
Gahl raised his bottle in a toast, T... t... to fam... fam... family and n... new begin...beginnings! Gahl crashed his bottle against that of Kalenel's breaking the top off both, he then raised his bottle and allowed the common ale to fall down into his mouth.
OC: The items are my starting gear, just incase you wondering

"Cheers to that!" Kalenel said happily as he took a hearty drink from the old bottle. Wiping his mouth, he took a seat on the floor and looked to regard the orc again.
"What brings you to Vortex my frieind?"
