A few blocks away from the Golden Dragon, one of the better parts of town was a building that had more to it then at first sight. From the outside, the building looked just like any other in the street and most people would assume it just another rich family’s home. Those a little more knowledgeable might be able to tell you it housed a private club, but only a select few knew the true purpose of the building. The place offered more than just repose for its members; it also held one of the largest collections of books on Necromancy, if not the largest. If one approached the door, they would find it to be made of thick wood with an ornate knocker mounted in the middle. It was locked from the inside with heavy steel bolts. At eye-height was a small, barred window. If one opened the matching iron door on the inside, they could see who was knocking without having to open the door itself.
If one entered, they would arrive in a small hallway with some place reserved on the left wall for coats and hats. To the right there was a door leading to a toilet with some space reserved where those dusted up from travelling could refresh themselves. An open doorway in front brought one into large room that served as a salon. It had a few comfortable chairs and some low tables. On the walls were some simple paintings and large chandeliers were present for when it got dark. A sizable open hearth could provide enough warmth to chase away the coldness when needed. Everything did give the impression that this was no more than a private meeting place.
On one side of the salon there was a door leading towards a kitchen area with a dining table. It provided enough space for simple meals to be cooked and for a few people to eat comfortably. In a corner of the kitchen was a hatch that took one to the cellar where a small amount of provisions could be found most of the time. On the other side there was a set of spiralling stairs that took one to the second floor, which was entirely reserved for shelves, books and scrolls.
Outside lay a garden that was used to cultivate a small array of vegetables. There was also a second, smaller building that had been turned into a guest room. Two bunk beds provided a place to sleep for up to four visitors.

Mail is nice to get when it contains an invitation. Thus when the black crow found Smernost Avenue 17 he flew through an open window and deposited a parchment on the desk.
Ms. Amber Brightwing
Smernost Avenue 17, Vortex
Greetings! I hope that this letter finds you and yours in good health.
As we both know intimately, knowledge is a powerful commodity; and a rare one. Power and knowledge go hand in hand, though you may hold one for a time without the other.
It is in the interest of knowledge, of power, that I write to you this day. Deep within the wilderness of Centripax lies a center of great learning - where knowledge shall never be made unavalable due to the ignorance of other no so enlightened beings.
Should you have an interest in such knowledge, and want to teach it, please make your way to the city of Zerdargia. You will be contacted upon your entrance into the city.
