New Player's Survey

Serale, and welcome to Aelyria! In order to help us make Aelyria better for new players, we've put together a short survey just for those who are new to the game. The feedback given here is regularly noted and used for improvements to the site. Please copy and answer every question in a reply to this thread. We recommend answering the survey after you've been here for a week or so. If you would like help with playing the game and have questions, please don't ask them here, but direct your questions to the Questions Forum. Thank you! Older players, please do not reply to this thread! This is a survey only, not a Q&A.

How did you find out about Aelyria? I found it listed at RPG Gateway.
Were you aware of the basics of the game before you joined? I have played PBP RPGs, but I am just learning the basics of this particular game.
Why did you decide to join us? I love the rich detail of the places and people, and I like the moderation concept.
Were you easily able to find guides and information? Yes. I like the Lore button very much.
Were the guides helpful and easy to understand? Yes, although I have yet to find one that explains unique language terms, like “serale” (I hope that’s right), although I am guessing it means something to the effect of “hello”.
What information did you need to get started which you couldn't find? Actually, it would have been good to know that my log-in was my character’s name. Luckily, I went with that, but only after my first attempt was rejected.
What changes to the website overall would make things easier for you? Not being able to reply to visitor messages, send PMs to players, or put links in a post (specifically in the Character forum) until a certain post count is frustrating. I do understand that this is likely to prevent spammers and advertisers, but it is still frustrating to an ‘eager beaver’ like me.
Do you have any other comments to help make Aelyria a better experience for new players? No, I think I’ve covered it above.

Slightly.

Why did you decide to join us?

The organization is very well developed and is professional in form, not to mention very unique and interesting.

Were you easily able to find guides and information?

Finding the guides is plenty easy, but I've found some bits of information rather difficult to keep track of. But, a little bookmarking and getting used to the system helps. =]

Were the guides helpful and easy to understand?

Definitely! And with some subjects, there are more, which makes the information even clearer if one's still slightly hesitant.

What information did you need to get started which you couldn't find?

Getting started went well. =]

What changes to the website overall would make things easier for you?

Let me get some experience, and then I'll answer that, lol.

It's great, really.. The community especially. =D
