Generally speaking, a Spellcaster is someone who casts spells. However, in Arcana, especially within some prestigious and academic magical communities, the word "spellcaster" is often used as a derogatory term to describe mages and hedgemages who do not partake in spellcrafting and limit themselves only to spells in their lexicons that have been imparted.
