Divine Goddess in Discreet Quantities (Private, Auer)
4th Brightening of Kalenryas, Era XV
Quentin tied his hair back, rolled the sleeves of his simple white tunic up, then climbed down from the small storage area over the metal shed that he had been given as his living quarters. He slipped out the small side gate, treading quietly as to not disturb Garen or his wife at their night time meal. He could hear them talking quietly, but could not make out the words.
The sun was low on the horizon, the shadows growing long and the chill increasing. Quentin was glad he had brought his cloak, as the temperature could go from warm to chill very quickly in this land. Two shops down he looked around, seeking the beautiful elf who had come into the shop earlier that day.

After business was conducted at Geran's weaponry shop, Auer had been torn over the decision on whether to take the apprentice up on his offer or merely let him be. Silently heard from a far place within the female loomed the Auer in her true form. And much like a conscience, her soft whispers were ever so faintly acknowledged. She bid her own self to let this one go. After all, there were plenty more out there in the world that were more deserving of the pleasurable pain she promised. He seemed of innocence, of a certain sweetness, and therefore it seemed wrong for the Elf of such coyness and destruction to corrupt all of the good that he was. But this was the very reason why the main inhabitant of Auer wanted to meet up again with the man and make a meal of him. The very same way the men of the cult had made a meal of herself for such a long cruel length of time.
Yes... the apprentice proved to be too much of a temptation in the end. Too much indeed...
When the time the apprentice had non-verbally communicated to her had arrived, Auer found herself walking the unfamiliar streets until she drew closer to Geran's shop. Dressed in a her favourite black silken dress covered by a black woollen cloak to keep hold of the warmth, Auer was a sight to see and many people's gaze lingered upon her as they took in the milky white colour of her skin in contrast to her dark attire. They then noted her long black hair, the blood red of her lips and her unflinching violet eyes. Those violet eyes looked around at the people still upon the street before her gaze moved on. She blended into the shadows as often as she could until she reached closer to her destination.
It was only then that the female Elf lessened her pace as her hips swayed slightly with each delicate step the female took. Her violet eye continued to sweep across the area, very much seeming like a huntress on the prowl. Her violet irises then fell upon a lone man. She could not be sure if this was the he she sought. Perhaps if he has his shirt off she would have a better indication. 'Yes...' she silently mused with a faint smile appearing upon her lips, his upper body she remembered vividly well. Auer paused in her step before she further tightened her cloak around her and waited for the man to approach her if he indeed was the apprentice; the one whom would either see her from that brightening on as a goddess or a demon in her true form.

Quentin heard a foot fall behind him, little more then the scuff of a leather toe over cobble stone. He turned and saw the woman standing deep in the shadows, her black cloak pulled around her.
"Do you always hide in shadows, or do you have the bravery to come into the light?"

A small smile of amusement showed upon her blood red lips. Auer continued to move closer to him from the cover of the shadows until she was standing within touching distance of his face. Only then did Auer reply to the apprentice in her silken tone.
"Do you always greet a lady in this manner?" Auer's violet eyes slowly travelled over the length of his body before reaching his eyes. She gazed deeply into his emerald green irises as a playful smile graced her lips.

Quentin moved closer until he was just a few inches away, bending his head slightly over her face. "I don't always come out into the dark of night to meet a woman in the shadows. There are some, however, that derserve a little...special attention." he murmured.

Auer tilted her head a little to the side revealing the milky white of her neck. Her violet eyes gazed up at him intently. Her playful smile changed to reveal a more tantalizing depth to her blood red lips. She averted her gaze in a brief respite before the crown of long thick lashes rose again to reveal her violet pools.
In a soft whisper she replied. "The apprentice I met earlier this brightening is not the same man that appears before me now.... The change is that of a timid boy becoming a man..." Her violet eyes moved from one eye to the other before lowering slightly to his lips and then returning to his eyes.
Auer then took one small step back. "I like to at least know your name before any special attention is given sir..."

Quentin smiled, his white teetch flashing brilliantly in the darkness. "We must put up certain masks to live through life. Timid apprentice is appropriate for yearning student, not confident man."
He turned and took a step a step down the street, holding out his arm for her to loop her's through. "If you would like, we could go for a walk through the Garden of Pools. Tonight is a full moon, and the view will be spectacular. I, Quentin Valenshire, would be pleased to escort you for tonight."

Auer arched her brow as a smile both of agreeement and appeal passed onto her blood red lips. She gave a slight nod of her head. "Yes, facades are needed in life." Auer deemed herself the queen of fakery and flattery and she had nine long dark era's to hone her skill.
His comment made Auer pause and consider her decision on meeting him yet again. If he was so skilled in the demeanour she had witnessed earlier that brightening, what was to say his true nature was not that of violence as was all males true way? Was that what the words 'special attention' connoted to? He forged weapons and therefore would have at least some talent with the tools. He was also tall and deliciously strong whilst she was the fabric of delicacy and feminine in every sense of the word.
Auer's subdued nature yearned to leave whilst the darkness created out of violence and pain, damnation and that of her own destruction, watched him with eyes of desire. It liked to play with fire and Auer could feel that fire dancing in his emerald green orbs softly calling to her. He would be hers, never again shall it be the other way... Only on that assertion, both sides of Auer shared an uncharacteristic unity.
Auer found her hand move to her own weapon, upon feeling its reassuring touch she averted her gaze. She only looked up at him as he spoke his name accompanied with an invite. He took a step down the shadowed street offering her his arm in a gentleman like manner. Auer looked at him with eyes of distrust before her eyelashes fell, upon rising, the distrust became lost in that quick blink of her violet eyes. She nodded her head in assent. A faint smile drew upon her lips. Her arm threaded through his own as her silken tone cascaded into the cool night air.
"Auer would glady accept your escort through the Garden of Pools..." Her words were lightly spoken and layered with charm. Auer gave a brief pause as they began to walk side by side. Only then did she speak again. "You can play the part of a timid student, and then that of a courteous gentleman...what other acts do you offer? What other secrets do you hold?" Auer gave him a playful smile as she looked up to meet his emerald eyes.

"Only those which gets me through life, fair lady." Quentin murmured, smiling down at her slightly. He stared at her eyes maybe a second too long, and then jerked his eyes back to the dark street ahead.
"You could be a very dangerous woman fair lady. Those eyes could mesmerize and hypnotize with but a glance if you so choose. As for secrets, who doesn't have their fair share these days? Demure yet sensual, you carry yourself like a lady, but move about in shadows as much as light. Secrets you ask? Secrets of the heart, or maybe secrets of the dark?" Quentin said. He laid his free hand over Auer's hand as gently as he could, his fingers trailing across her knuckles.
"Such a question begs re-asking fair lady. What secrets do you hide under that cloak and in those eyes?"

Auer stared into the distance, her violet eyes seeming to reflect the very darkness she saw. Auer was pleasantly surprised he dared to speak what many other souls preferred to ignore. This factor was the very reason why Auer took such great delight in dressing in her favoured dark attire just as what would be worn by the mistress of night. Accompanied by a certain look it had proven to be a weapon all in its own and as a result it gave Auer the luxury of her privacy and space to move about from city to city unthreatened and undisturbed.
She did not respond straight away to him, not even upon feeling his touch on her hand. After a time her violet eyes met his emerald orbs. She replied in a voice of softness accentuated by her silken tone and yet her words were detached and shrouded in Winter's frost. "Secret under my cloak? Under my cloak lies no secrets your imagination has not already undressed. Secrets of the dark? On that you can count on. Secrets of the heart? No for no such object remains." Auer averted her eyes. The pain that explicitly revealed itself there became hidden from view by the crown of her long thick lashes. The silence consumed the area as it stalked, undetected and unseen, in the vast darkness that lay between the two souls.
After a significant pause Auer's violet eyes looked up again as a smile revealed itself upon her lips. "It is only fair you reveal a little of yourself to me in return...whether it be more of the tempting visual type I had the pleasure of witnessing earlier this brightening...Or of equal delight, a sample of what is hidden from view..." Auer looked to Quentin's chest before her gaze slowly rose to his eyes. Only then did she offer him an enticing smile that seemed to match what was on display in the violet of her eyes.

"Tsk tsk my lady Auer, so little do you reveal that such words are the sayings of a silver tongued temptress. Still, they are not without merit." Quentin said quietly. He took his hand off of hers and reached up to his neck, loosening the ties of his shirt. It slid down his shoulders a few inches, revealing his toned chest muscles.
"Is this what you seek? Merely the pyshical satisfaction of the masculine submission? Or maybe something else..." he trailed off, raising his arm to bring the back of her hand to his lips and kissing very softly. "Somethine else is driving you, and I don't think it's what I assume it is."

Auer's eyes observed his toned upper body before slowly moving back up to meet his eyes. Her smile widened slightly as she arched her brow at him. "Driving me? Why sir, whatever are you referring to?" Auer's violet eyes widened slightly as she batted her eyelashes conveying both her femininity and that of innocence - an innocence of a transparent quality that spoke in bounds of her true nature, or at least that which was ruled by the darker hand at play.
"And what, dare I ask, is that which you assume? Do you dare speak the words out loud?" The female Elf tilted her head slightly to one side as she viewed the man with a sidelong glance. She then took purposeful steps around the man. Upon his back he felt the slightest touch run down his spine. Her violet eyes watched him as she made the full circle around his body. Her sweet scent of rain and wildflowers, vanilla and cinnamon surrounded him from all directions. When in front of him she stepped up close and placed her hand upon his chest where only moments ago it had lingered upon his back, she could feel the faint beat of his heart. She flicked her tongue over her lips in a tantalising manner.
Mild was never the word to use with Auer, perhaps once upon a time...a time before darkness held precedence...a time where perhaps laughter and innocence held sway; a time before she came to possess such bewitching female qualities.... Those qualities commanded his submission. Her lashes fell before quickly rising in rhythm with the beat of his heart. Her violet orbs at that moment commanded his full and undivided attention.

Quentin's nose flared as her scent invaded his mind, blinding him to the lurking danger inherent in her very soul. Yet, for all her darkness, a light built inside of him that pushed it back, fought for sanity. He pulled her hand off of his chest, holding it tightly as he brought it up to his lips. "Temptress... though maybe you use magic to ensnare my mind. These urges have no outlet, and they rail against my self control, and yet you seek to set them free. Push push push Lady Auer, and you might get something you weren't quite expecting."
He released her hand and continued walking, shivering despite the heat in his chest. Whatever she was doing to him, he was able to throw it off...for now. "Enough with the veiled words milady, speak plainly for now. I come from the coast of the sea of Diana, but seek to distance myself from my history and reforge my life, so to speak, in Zinn'sunn."

Auer frowned upon hearing his words. "You think I work in arcana? I did begin druidism but it did not agree with me... I do not place spells upon people... I have felt the evil taint of arcana placed on me in vile ways you could not conceive of. Do not dare think I am the type to do such things..." Her eyes opened wide revealing the truth and sincerity of her words. Moisture showed in the violet of her eyes as tear unshed shone through her orbs of misery. It conveyed without intention the scars she bore that run deep into her soul; shards of pain and misery, inflictions upon chaos, darkness stacked on top of insanity and pain, oh so much pain at the mere remembrance, the mere mention of magic.. Alas...
She hesitantly began to walk until her steps were aligned with his. She wrapped her arms around herself. Her eyes remained averted to the ground. "Speak plainly to you...for you I can do that. You seek to distance yourself from your history? I share your sentiments. But how much can we truly escape the demons from our pasts? My feet continue in constant flight but some demons cannot be outrun. But when death refuses to claim, there is no other choice but to flee..."
She then looked into the distance as she probed deep within herself; locating her curse and thus the connection she shared with the men who relentlessly chased her, the tormentors whom offered her no reprieve. In a whisper of a soft timbre she said more to herself than to her companion. "Yes...soon... very soon I shall have to leave..."

Quentin looked sideways at the beautiful elf woman, who, so sure of herself before, now seemed as cold with doubt and old fear as she had been warm with desire and passion. His arm moved for a moment, but then he lowered it back to his side and continued to walk in silence.
They walked like this for several minutes, meandering through the moonlit streets towards the Garden of Pools. As they walked over the first wooden bridges, Quentin began speaking.
"Some demons are not meant to flee from. Some must be faced down and destroyed, or forever will you have a shard of fear in your heart. To run from a fear is to be caged by that fear, forever."
