We began to tackle a recurring problem in large-scale fantasy worlds: simulating realistic economies that take into account standardized values of goods and services, fluctuating economic concepts like supply and demand, and intricate or complex notions such as trade routes and labor. A new discussion in Aelyria has been posted to our symposium entitled The Aelyrian Economy and we are delighted to extend an invitation to all interested theorycrafters, economists, and enthusiast financial tinkerers to help us flesh out our game world's economic systems. Following this week's heat wave in the Northeastern United States, major power relays and failing transformers in Boston experienced a severe outage and service interruption last night at approximately 8:00 pm Eastern Time. Service was restored at around 4:00 am Eastern Time, and subsequent power outages were reported throughout the morning. Play by Post servers were unaffected by these outages, as they were connected to redundant uninterrupted power supplies and had two backup datacenter locations in Texas and Washington State. AELYRIA -- An obscure method in which to expose a cross-site scripting (XSS) error on our web site was successfully patched earlier today. Though the XSS flaw was difficult to exploit, the potential for exposure and damage was limited, Play by Post LLC applied the security patch hours after our software development team reported its remote possibility, ensuring that our user and customer data remained completely safe and secure.
