The approval marks the successful completion of Play by Post LLC's nearly year-long strategy to register the trademark of its flagship product. The Aelyria Trademark, now Registered, ensures that only Play by Post LLC will be legally allowed to use the name; the Registration was simultaneously recognized by the European Union and the Internet Trademark Board, as well as concordantly acknowledged by the World Trade Organization. Use of the Aelyria name must now be accompanied by a notice indicating that "Aelyria ® is a Registered Trademark of Play by Post LLC", and will enable Play by Post LLC to litigate misuse of the Aelyria name anywhere in the world. Service was restored at around 4:00 am Eastern Time, and subsequent power outages were reported throughout the morning. Play by Post servers were unaffected by these outages, as they were connected to redundant uninterrupted power supplies and had two backup datacenter locations in Texas and Washington State.
